Frapuccinos made in this fashion are more of a dessert item than a refreshing summer beverage. Abbey has once again swooped in to save the day with some great tasting healthy Frapuccino recipes that will change the way you think about your Frapuccino altogether..
Many of you are probably not aware of how much sugar is in a typical Frapuccino. Some Frapuccino’s clock in at 600 calories and contain three times the suggested amount of added sugars you should be consuming in an entire day. In other words, having a Frappuccino for breakfast is like eating a dessert for a family of four. It’s just about the worst way to kick-start your body into action in the morning..
Abbey has developed 3 unique healthy Frapuccino recipes she calls “Swappuccinos” that use no artificial sweeteners or flavors and have a fraction of the calories, fat and sugar found in a typical Frappuccino..
The first recipe she covers is the Salted Caramel Swappuccino. You will need unsweetened almond vanilla milk, cold press coffee, frozen ripe bananas, caramel sauce, cocoa powder, cocoa sugar, sea salt, vanilla, a can of light coconut milk and a bit of lemon juice to make this healthy Frapuccino recipe..
Abbey’s starts by making a big batch of vegan whip cream from the can of coconut milk. She puts the can in the freezer for a bit before whipping it and adds a teaspoon of vanilla once it’s nice and fluffy. Combine your cocoa sugar with one tbsp. of water and 2 tsp. of lemon juice in a medium saucepan and bring it to a boil. As soon as it starts bubbling add in 1/2 cup of light coconut milk, 1/4 tsp. of sea salt, and a half a tsp. of vanilla. Simmer this for about 15 minutes until the liquid becomes thick and dark then remove it from the heat..
While that’s cooling down pull out your blender and add 2 cups of unsweetened almond vanilla milk, 2 tsp. of unsweetened cocoa powder, 2 frozen ripe bananas, one cup of cold press coffee, 3 cups of ice and about 6 tsp. of the salted caramel you set aside. Blend until it looks just right and pour the contents into 4 cups. Top it off with as much of your vegan whip cream as you see fit, drizzle a bit of the carmel on and you’re done. You just made a delicious and healthy Frapuccino recipe in no time at all. Since you have 4 servings be sure to share with your friends..
