Over the past four days I had the privilege to participate in the Women's Leadership Program and Together Becoming Allies initiative in Sydney. This program was a profound journey into understanding and addressing the challenges that impact women in the workplace across diverse cultural contexts and presenting solutions to help overcome such situations. Thank you Geneviève Frydman, APP, Yukiko Takigami (Kawabata),Suzanne Frazer, Shahzaib Munir and Jake Porter for facilitating such engaging sessions! I'd like to thank my team- Chandran Mavila and Nimisha Pawar for nominating me to undergo a training that helped me identify my strengths, weaknesses and grow as a corporate professional.Key takeaway that resonated with me was Self-Advocacy: One of the most impactful aspects was understanding the nuances of self-advocacy. Women often downplay their achievements, while men tend to overstate theirs. This disparity highlights the importance of fostering an environment where all achievements are recognized equitably- in other terms creating a safe space for all. Moreover, the experience reinforced the power of forming networks and finding mentors who can offer guidance and support. These connections are crucial for advancing careers and fostering personal growth.Interacting with women from diverse backgrounds underlined that while cultural contexts vary, many workplace challenges remain consistent. This shared understanding strengthens my commitment to enabling and empowering others in corporate settings.Moving forward, I am eager to apply these learnings by actively listening to different perspectives and advocating for inclusive practices in leadership and beyond.#WomensLeadership #DiversityandInclusion #Empowerment #CorporateLeadership #CareerDevelopment #Amazon

Looking forward to create a difference. As we continue to find ways to lift each other up, developing strong allies is another way we can embrace the power of the pack. Whether you seek them out or find them naturally, these collaborative relationships are essential for coming up with new ideas, new solutions and I am sure WLP will definitely help to elevate women in business.

As of July 1, 2024, the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) has replaced the Indian Penal Code (IPC), bringing about a significant change in the legal landscape. One of the notable reforms is the removal of Section 377, which previously criminalized consensual hom*osexual acts. This is a major victory for the LGBTQ+ community and a step towards greater inclusivity and equality. As an ally, I applaud the government for taking this progressive step and aligning India's laws with the Supreme Court's 2018 judgment decriminalizing hom*osexuality. However, it's important to note that the removal of Section 377 also presents some challenges. With no specific provision addressing the rape of men or transgender persons, male victims of sexual assault may face difficulties in seeking legal recourse.Additionally, the absence of Section 377 could potentially lead to a reduction in the severity of sentences for such crimes.Despite these concerns, the repeal of Section 377 is a significant milestone in India's journey towards a more just and equitable society. It sends a powerful message of acceptance and respect for the LGBTQ+ community and their right to love freely. As we celebrate this victory, let us also remain vigilant and advocate for the rights of all individuals, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. Together, we can build a society where everyone is treated with dignity and respect.#Section377 #LGBTQ #LegalReform #India #Equality #BhartiyaNyayaSanhita #allyship

Exploring the world solo is my passion, and it’s taught me a lot about the essence of freedom. Today, during my visit to Freycinet National Park in Tasmania, I had a profound realization of what freedom means to me.On the second of three consecutive day tours I'd booked starting at 7 am, I reached the park with my tour bus and had three options provided: a 6km circuit around Wineglass Beach, a 3km walk to Wineglass Bay Lookout followed by other sites, or a free day to explore at our own pace. Feeling quite tired, I opted for the third choice, making me the only one to do so. Got dropped off at a bistro near the beach and the bus left to continue with the rest of the planned day. However, within minutes of reaching the beach, I realized it wasn’t ideal for lazing about due to the freezing temperatures. In that moment, freedom was my ability to pivot. I decided to make my way to the lookout walk starting point, 2km away and uphill. Despite the challenge, I managed to hitchhike with a lovely lady and caught up with the group at the start of the trail in around 10mins.For me, freedom was about making my choice and then changing my mind when I needed to. It was about figuring out how to get to the lookout trail on my own, and not complaining but finding a solution if that was what I truly wanted to do. I had only my own expectations to manage and nothing more. It was on the bus back that I realized in all situations managing my own expectations is all I can truly do and be happy with myself!I encourage everyone to find their own definition of freedom. It’s an empowering journey, and it’s worth every step.#solotravelaustralia #solotravelstories

Dear Connections, As my time at XLRI Delhi winds down, I’m thrilled to share that I would be joining Amazon in AFBP-Operations this June. While I’m excited for what the future holds, I am currently looking to participate in a short term project/internship for the months of April and May, in strategy, marketing, operations or product management roles. As a part of my MBA, I majored in #Marketing and #Strategy, and have interned with Adobe as a Customer Retention Analytics and Strategy intern. Prior to my post graduation, I worked with Deloitte and EY as an analyst in Risk Advisory. If anyone knows of such opportunities where I would be a good fit, I’m happy to explore and would appreciate if you could send them my way! #opportunities #internship

"Last year I prepped to go back to college after nearly two years of working in the competitive, fast-paced environment that consultancies offered. I excitedly reached out to a senior from my undergraduate college who had graduated from XLRI (albeit a different campus) where I planned to spend the next two years. Once with the usual chit-chat, she revealed a significant piece of information that greatly bothered me. It was about a yearly activity conducted by the senior batch that could essentially be termed ‘college sanctioned ragging’."It is high time to start an open conversation about the hush-hush MBA indoctrination practices. How far can one push the idea of culture without becoming a cult? Why is this topic not visible on almost any social media platform? How does the system work? Here's a look at what many of the enthusiastic minds who posted how grateful they were to get admissions into top MBA colleges face within their first week in MBA.#mbastudents #mbalife #xlri #xlrijamshedpur #xlridelhi #iim #newiim#culture #environment #highereducation #mba #insiders #bhasad

My internship with Adobe helped me understand customer retention strategies and better balance management-oriented and customer-centric decisions. Talking to several retention executives across regions, I was exposed to various stakeholder viewpoints and consumer behaviour. Apart from recommending certain offer tactics to improve upon the retention rate (RR), my project consisted of looking at current systems and scanning for any potential inefficiencies that would impact the RR or annual recurring revenue. Backing up my suggestions with impact and risk analysis, associated dependencies, and a timeline for the project required several brainstorming sessions, which was possible due to the efforts and patience of my project mentor Akansh Gauba and manager Kapil Arora. The whole team was exceptionally supportive and open from Day 1, making me incredibly proud and happy to be an Adobe Intern. As my internship draws to an end, I wish to thank Rohit Srivastava and Nitesh Chetri for having me as a part of their team and critically reviewing my project, which helped shape it.Lastly, a big thank you to Jerin Raju, Swetha Akhnoor and Kalyani Tripathi, who were my first point of contact for Adobe and the reason I knew this internship would be amazing right from the get-go.#adobelife
